About the St. Louis Chapter
The St. Louis Chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux was organized in 2004 by a group of local Bordeaux wine lovers who wanted to maintain and celebrate the grand traditions of these fine clarets. The chapter was approved as one of the chapters of the Commanderie de Bordeaux aux États-Unis d'Amérique, an organization that today spans chapters and members across the United States and Puerto Rico.
The Commanderie is affiliated with a worldwide network of Commanderies operating under the overall patronage of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux (GCVB) in Bordeaux, France.
As members — known as Commandeurs — we share a passion for the wines of Bordeaux and serve as emissaries of the Bordeaux winemakers in our local community, with the goal of broadening the appreciation of these wines in the United States.
The St. Louis Chapter hosts tastings and dinners that promote the educational side of Bordeaux wine in a fun and convivial manner. Members talk through the wines, evaluate each pour, and discuss how it pairs with every course — always in great company.
